Dr. Hattenhauer received his Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN, in 1987. He earned his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin, at Madison in 1992 and then completed a transitional year at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. He finished his Ophthalmology Residency at the Mayo Clinic Department of Ophthalmology in Rochester, MN, in 1996. He remained there for his glaucoma fellowship, which he completed in 1997. Dr. Hattenhauer was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, before joining the clinic in 1999.
At the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin Dr. Hattenhauer performs cataract surgery using all of the intraocular lenses available to match the patient’s visual needs. He also routinely performs both cataract and glaucoma surgery on patients in need of surgical care for both conditions.
